Most teenagers applying for their first job encounter the same problem: resume templates that assume they already have professional work experience.

Your First Resume helps students recognize that babysitting, volunteering, participating in school clubs, completing community service, and helping with a family business can all provide valuable, resume-worthy experience.

Created by a former high school counselor who has helped hundreds of students prepare for their first jobs, this four-page printable worksheet guides teens through identifying their experience, describing their skills, and organizing everything into a clean, one-page resume.

Students will also learn a simple formula for writing stronger resume bullet points and prepare for three questions commonly asked during first-job interviews.

What’s included:

• A guided brainstorm to uncover resume-worthy experience
• A soft-skills and hard-skills inventory
• A simple, one-page resume layout with guided sections
• The “action verb + what you did + result” formula for writing resume bullets
• Examples showing students how to describe their experience
• A pre-submission resume checklist
